CNC Setter / Programmer
Cambion Electronics are looking for an experienced CNC Setter / Programmer (swiss type sliding head) to join the team at our beautiful Peak District location – an easy commute from Sheffield.

Cambion Electronics are a high-end, AS 9100-accredited, precision manufacturer with substantial track record in aerospace, military, industrial, medical, petrochemical, instrumentation and industrial markets. Customer quality is at the heart of everything we do.
We are looking to recruit a skilled CNC Setter / Programmer to set, program and operate Citizen and Star sliding head lathes. Experience in swiss type sliding head CNC machines is essential.
Main Duties:
As part of a great team, you will understand production plans, work with limited supervision and follow production & quality procedures to deliver exceptional quality turned-based parts to our worldwide customer base.
You will be required to:
• Produce a high-quality product by setting and performing machine operations using CNC sliding head machines (Citizen and Star) ensuring quality workmanship at all times.
• Turning of ferrous and non-ferrous materials and plastics.
• Inspect components to fine BS tolerances using specialist equipment to check the manufactured component to the technical drawing.
• Maintain and improve productivity, work in line with company procedures and machine capability to ensure production deadlines are met.
• Maintain set-up sheets and production documentation, in line with company procedure.
• Problem-solve using root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Ensure work area is kept clean and tidy at all times by keeping machine and all associated tools and equipment in a clean and tidy manner.
• Work within a safe environment by ensuring all company procedures and Health & Safety legislation is followed at all times.
Working Hours:
8.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Thursday (week 1)
8.00am to 5.30pm, Tuesday to Friday (week 2)
Required Skills and Experience:
• CNC Sliding Head setting experience using Star and / or Citizen. (Additional training will be provided).
• Ability to self-inspect and work to tight tolerances.
• Edit programs using Fanuc controls.
• Ability to operate more than one machine at a time
• Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude
Please Note: This role can be physically demanding. You will need to be comfortable with the following:
• The job requires the CNC Setter / Programmer to be mainly standing throughout the day (apart from break times).
• Lifting and loading rod.
• Lifting and slinging.
• General machine maintenance.
